Whether you’re starting with land, searching for the right homesite, or exploring what’s possible, everything begins with a simple conversation.
Step 1: Start the Conversation
Every project begins by determining if we’re the right fit—and which path aligns with your vision.
We offer three ways to build:

Portfolio or move-in ready homes on our land
From there, we tailor the experience to your goals, timeline, and level of customization.
Step 2: Understand the Land
If you’re building on your own land, we begin with a thorough evaluation of your property—looking at topography, utilities, access points, drainage, and any engineering or permitting considerations that could impact the build. This phase helps us identify opportunities and constraints early, so there are no surprises later in the process.
This “pre-construction infrastructure” step is critical to making informed decisions around layout, foundation, and overall design—ensuring everything is intentional, efficient, and tailored to your site.
If you’re building on Curate’s land, much of this groundwork has already been completed. That allows us to streamline the process and move more quickly into the design phase, with confidence that the foundation is already set.
Step 3: Design Your Home
This is where your vision starts to take shape. Whether you come to us with a fully developed plan or just an idea, our in-house team works closely with you to bring it to life through thoughtful design, intentional space planning, and personalized details.
We focus on creating a home that not only looks beautiful but functions seamlessly for your day-to-day life—considering everything from layout and flow to how each space will be used over time.
If you’re building on Curate’s land, you may begin with one of our portfolio plans and customize it to better fit your needs, giving you a strong starting point while still allowing for flexibility and personalization.
Step 4: Finalize & Build
Once your design is complete, we move into contract, selections, and construction.
On your land: ~6 months planning + ~12 months build
On our land: ~9–12 months total depending on complexity
Throughout the process, we prioritize clear communication so you always know what’s next.
Step 5: Move In
Once construction is complete, we’ll walk you through a final review of your home to ensure every detail meets our standards—and yours. From there, you’ll close and officially step into your new space.
To give you added peace of mind, every Curate home includes a one-year builder warranty, so you can settle in confidently knowing you’re supported even after move-in day.
What Does “Design-Build” Mean?
Design-build means everything happens under one roof.
Instead of managing separate architects, designers, and builders, our team handles it all—from initial concept to final construction. Whether your idea starts as a fully formed vision or a rough sketch, we guide it all the way through to completion.
